Plans for a new £80m hotel and office building in Bury have been given the go-ahead. A joint venture company created by Bury Council and Ask Developments has won planning permission for the Townside scheme opposite Bury town hall. It includes a 110-bedroom hotel and a 20,000 sq ft office building.The hotel, which has been pre-let to Whitbread for its Premier Inn concept, will also comprise of a restaurant and Costa Coffee. Ask is also in legal negotiations with an occupier for the whole office building. Work has already begun on the first phase of the 165,000 sq ft scheme, which will include a 50,000 sq ft stat of the art primary care centre for Bury Primary Care Trust a 40,000 sq ft building adjacent to the town hall for Bury Council, along with a three storey car park with around 400 spaces.
