A joint venture between Ask and Network Rail is bringing forward a pioneering vision to reconnect the two great cities of Manchester and Salford, across the River Irwell, with a series of stunning new pieces of public realm and a pedestrian footbridge.

This vision, underpinned by urban regeneration company Central Salford URC, will deliver a breathtaking mixed-use scheme consisting of 3.25m sq ft of mixed-use development.  The first area to be developed will be a new business district on the site of the old Exchange railway station.  The first phase will offer 345,000 sq ft of prime office space divided between two landmark buildings.  100 Embankment has 244,000 sq ft across 10 floors whilst 101 Embankment provides 102,000 sq ft over 8 storeys.  Both buildings feature generous and impressive ground floor entrance halls and share a 375 space undercroft car park with additional retail and leisure opportunities at ground floor level.

The development is located within the historic Greengate triangle area, bounded by Chapel Street, Gravel Lane and Sacred Trinity Church. It sits just yards from the booming retail and leisure developments of Manchester city centre’s Exchange Square.

The first piece of the Greengate jigsaw is already in place with the completion of the 8 storey Abito apartment scheme on the corner of Boon Street and Greengate.

The Greengate Embankment website can be found at www.greengateembankment.com and PDF of the scheme brochure can be downloaded here.
