Ask, in partnership with Network Rail and Salford City Council has proposed a pioneering vision to reconnect the two great cities of Manchester and Salford, across the River Irwell, with a series of stunning new pieces of public realm.
This vision, underpinned by urban regeneration company Central Salford URC, will deliver a breathtaking mixed-use scheme consisting of 3.25m sq ft of mixed-use development, including shops, an hotel, around 1m sq ft of business space and 2m sq ft of residential space, eventually providing up to 2,600 new homes, over the next decade.
The development, which has been designed by architects Feilden Clegg Bradley, is located within the historic Greengate triangle area, bounded by Chapel Street, Gravel Lane and Sacred Trinity Church. It sits just yards from the booming retail and leisure developments of Manchester city centre’s Exchange Square.
The first piece of the Greengate jigsaw is already in place with the creation of the 8 storey completed Abito apartment scheme on the corner of Boon Street and Greengate.
