Ask is partnering Bury Council to create this outstanding £80m mixed-use development, which will contribute greatly to the town’s regeneration by providing new public services, offices, retail and leisure units including a hotel, city centre-style apartments and extensive public landscaping.
The scheme provides a sustainable urban development in a unique location opposite Bury Town Hall and the first phase of development is now complete. Bury Council have now taken occupation of their new 40,000 sq ft high quality offices and Bury Primary Care Trust now operate from a new 50,000 sq ft state-of-the-art medical centre with a ground floor Lloydspharmacy and superb health facilities including two new GP surgeries, paediatric consulting, midwifery, health visitors, speech and language therapy, orthoptics, occupational therapy and podiatry.
A 400 space public car park has also been completed as part of the phase one works and is now open.
The second phase of development has also recently completed which comprises new office accommodation for Six Town Housing, the arms length management company which manages the housing stock on behalf of Bury Council, and a 115-bed Premier Inn hotel including a restaurant and Costa Coffee.
Masterplanned by architects Carey Jones, the development also boasts new major public landscaping, including a new pedestrian link from the site directly onto the existing Metrolink platform now in planning stages and a brochure for the scheme can be downloaded here.
