The £43 million transformation of Urmston town centre will spearhead the regeneration of this up-and-coming suburb, generating a thriving retail centre and creating new jobs in the community,

The former council offices and adjacent vacant units have been demolished to make way for the new mixed-use scheme which will be delivered in two phases. 

The first phase of the scheme completed in summer 2009 comprising: a 630 space shoppers' car park, a 50,000 sq ft Sainsbury's store and new public library.  In addition to Sainsbury's, Boots, Costa Coffee, Greggs, Hallmark, Thorntons, William Hill, Shaw Trust and HD Studio are now open for business, and the first phase of residential comprising 64 city style apartments are now completed.  

Phase 2 of the development is now 85% let with retailers Aldi, Iceland and Quality Save joining the line up.  Construction is expected to commence in autumn 2011.
